✨ Chromosome Structure
Hello dear children! Today we will learn about chromosomes. Chromosomes are found in the nucleus of the cell, like the control room of our cells. Every organism has a specific number of chromosomes. Did you know that humans usually have 46 chromosomes!
✨ Chromosomal Syndromes
These chromosomes determine the characteristics of our body. For example, boys have XY chromosomes and girls have XX chromosomes. But sometimes, changes in the number or structure of chromosomes can cause certain diseases. This is called chromosomal syndrome.
✨ Sex Chromosome Abnormalities
For example, in Down syndrome there is an extra 21st chromosome. This can lead to physical weakness and mental retardation. Similarly, in Turner syndrome, girls have only one X chromosome, which can cause them reproductive problems.
✨ Genetic Testing and Diagnosis
Do not worry! Doctors do genetic testing to detect these chromosomal problems. This helps in early detection of the disease and correct treatment can be done. Therefore, knowing about chromosomes is very important for our health.
