Teacher Explains
β¨ National Parks and Sanctuaries
National parks and sanctuaries are areas established for the conservation of plants and animals. Bharatpur Sanctuary and Kaziranga National Park are examples of such areas.
β¨ What is Deforestation?
Deforestation is a major problem that poses a threat to plants and animals. Deforestation means cutting down forests for other purposes, such as for land, houses and factories, or cutting down trees for timber use.
β¨ Causes of Deforestation
Deforestation causes serious problems such as increased temperatures and pollution. It leads to an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the air and affects the groundwater level.
β¨ Effects of Deforestation
If deforestation continues, rainfall and soil fertility will decrease. It can also lead to natural disasters such as floods and droughts. Trees use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis; a lack of trees leads to an increase in carbon dioxide.
